Mother's Day Workshop, Canberra
BLOOMS & BACKYARD MAGIC
It was a lovely, sunshine-y Autumn day and there were mini cupcakes involved.
This was my first ever floral workshop and not only did it sell out, reader, it was magical.
The room was filled with buckets of flowers, the fairy lights twinkled and my dogs came in and out of the room just to check everyone was working away. (And if they had any snacks to share.)
I had spent the previous two weeks creating the space in my garage, working hard to make the vision in my head real and it did not disappoint.
One of my favourite parts about the workshop itself was hearing the ladies realise what they had made was actually beautiful.
I heard things like:
"I actually love mine! I didn't think I'd be good at this..."
"Isn't it funny how we all made the same thing but somehow they've all turned out different to each other."
Some of them had managed to convince themselves they weren't creative so there's would 'be bad'.
But just look at how incredible these arrangements are...

Some of these were gifted to lucky mother's, mum-in-laws and teachers and a couple were kept just for themselves. (Relate.)
At the end of the afternoon the floor was covered with leaves (making mess is part of the fun) and I'd already started dreaming up something wonderful for next time...
Want to join the next workshop?
Based in the south side of Canberra (although north-siders are always welcome, nay encouraged to venture this way), my backyard studio is officially open for floral workshops. I'll be announcing the next one shortly to the VIP list, so they have the first chance to grab a ticket before it's announced publicly. There were some people who missed out last time, so it's a good idea not to get sidetracked by shiny things (again, relate) if you're wanting to come to the next one.

Come and hang with the flowers and me?

PS: I'll share some pics of the workshop space soon.
